Teachers’
guide CD ROM. Here is a dynamic resource for teachers
and pupils which can be used to look at some of the issues brought
into focus by the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery. The
material is placed in the context of transatlantic migration in
general and the experiences of the ‘Windrush’ generation in
particular. This leads towards an analysis of some of the issues
raised in the novel ‘Small Island’ by Andrea Levy. In this book
the reader is asked to consider some of the human, cultural and
personal consequences of post war migration from the Caribbean. This
self contained CD contains all the materials to resource a range of
suggested activities that will assist teachers to cover this
sensitive and important area of study.

School projects. From time to time, Liverpool Reads is able to offer projects for free to schools and community groups. This could be an arts project related to reading, or a set of reading sessions, or simply an invitation to a launch event or a reading by one of the authors. Alternatively, if the school has spare money to pay for some reading sessions, or some other project, we will be happy to talk through the options. If you are interested in taking part in a project, please contact Bea Colley to discuss.
